The beginning of Rosemary Angels

I retired from my job after 32 years of service and was enjoying the new freedom that resulted.  My daughters and families live in the Houston area and now I had more time to enjoy them.  It was on such occasion I was shopping in one of my daughter’s little antique shop when I came upon a beautiful angel pin.  I purchased it and as I was admiring the angel, I got the idea of designing angel pins out of old pieces of jewelry that I had collected over the years.

I began preparing the old jewelry for rebirth – cleaning, cutting into usable parts, and polishing.  I made hundreds of angels, all unique and none alike.  When my supply of jewelry ran out, I went to flea markets and garage sales in search for more.  I soon had so many angels that I decided to market them through arts and craft shows local.  They were such a huge success that I expanded to larger shows in different parts of the state.  While I enjoyed the thrill and satisfaction of creating beautiful angels out of discarded jewelry, I soon found out that most of my time was spent trying to fine the “treasures” for recycle.  I needed a take a new direction so she left the old jewelry designs behind and started a new venture.

It was then I created her first website starting out with only 12 angels and I could duplicate.  It was not an overnight success, but after two long years and lots of work and help from others, it slowly took off.  I now have a thriving internet business with hundreds of different designs and send out online newsletter to thousands of customers each month.

While I enjoyed creating beautiful angels, my real passion and purpose was born the day a grieving mother and father came to my studio with the story of their beautiful young daughter who had died very recently.  I worked with them to create the perfect angel for their daughter – one they could wear every day and feel her presence with them.  As I listened to their beautiful experiences, saw their tears and raw pain, and saw their reaction to the special angel pin, I felt that little heart tug that told me this was the real reason for “Angels by Rosemary”.

I did not know how this new revelation was going to come to fruition until a few weeks later on Sunday morning.   I checked my e-mail messages and my mailbox was overflowing with special requests.    After reading several requests, I learned that a local news story about that beautiful young lady and her angel was picked up by AP and was run as the top Texas news story.  Consequently, many cities in Texas, large and small, carried the angel story.

Fourteen years have passed and the angel pins have made their flight to every State in the United States and to several foreign countries.  I am blessed indeed!

Boy angels

I get many requests for boy angel pin designs and I am told it is hard to find boy angels.  I have recently added a whole page of boy angel pins to my website at http://www.rosemaryangels.com/boy-angel-pins.html.  There you can find boy angels with frogs, dogs, kitties, dinosaurs, sport themes, and many more.  When I get the requests for a special angel pin design, I need to know the favorite things, hobbies, etc of the individual for whom the angel will be designed.  Then I personalize the angel pin accordingly.  You will want to browse  hundreds of my special designs on my website at http://www.designsbyrosemary.com/index.htm

Awareness angel pins

I have designed angel pins constantly for many years.  Today I am highlighting a group of angel pins that I have designed recently -  the awareness angels.

Awareness ribbons are worn as a symbol of hope, a statement of support and a great way to raise money for your good cause.  I have designed several angels wearing various awareness ribbons.

The Cancer Walk Angel is a little walking angel displaying the gold cancer ribbon;  the Autism Angel proudly wears the puzzle ribbon; the Donor Angel is adorned with the green donor ribbon; the Breast Cancer  Angel displays the pink ribbon on the wing; the Aids Angel is donned with the red ribbon; and the Alzheimer Angel is decorated with little forget-me-nots.

The angels wearing awareness ribbons are such a great way to show support for the various causes.  They also make great fundraisers for various organizations.
