As Mother’s Day approaches, I am reminded of my own mother who was an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. She raised five of us children, worked on the farm as well as holding down a full time job outside the home much of the time. She taught Bible classes at our church and participated in local community activities. She took time to teach and nurture me into adulthood. She supported me in my endeavors and made me feel loved and special – what a gift!
It is my prayer that I have handed down that gift to my daughters. They are mothers now and I marvel to see how they interact with their children. I have thought many time how great it would have been if God had sent an instruction book with each child to guide us, especially through the teen years. But then that little heart tug told me He is always near to guide us through.
